About Masai Mara:

Masai Mara National Reserve is located in south west Kenya and is a vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains measuring 1510 square kilometers in area and bordering the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south. Masai Mara is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for its spectacular natural diversity of wildlife and is the premier Kenya Safari location in East Africa, offering visitors numerous reasons to visit this animal paradise. Large numbers of Lions, Cheetah, Elephant, Rhino, African Buffalo, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Zebra and many more animals are found in the park in their natural habitat, unconfined and free to roam the vast Kenyan wilderness stretching for miles on end. Masai Mara National Park is famous for this migration, during which large herds of a million plus wildebeest, zebra and other wild animals including the “Big Cats” migrate north into the Mara from Serengeti National Park. This migration typically takes place between July to mid-September and involves the wildebeest making dangerous crossings through crocodile infested rivers.

About the Skipper

Ratish Nair is an award-winning Wildlife Photographer known for his exceptional work. He serves as a Nikon Creator and Photo Mentor, bringing his expertise to aspiring photographers. As the skipper for Ecotrailz, he leads and conducts enriching photo workshops for participants, enhancing their skills during their journeys with Ecotrailz.

Itinerary [Arrival to Departure]

Day 1[Arrival]: 23rd December 2024

• Arrival at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta at 6.00 am
• Transfers from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta to Wilson Airport at 10.00 am. ∙ Land at Masai Mara airstrip, check in to Maasai Mara Simba Lodge. ∙ Assemble for Lunch at 1.00 pm.
• 3.00 pm will depart for our game drive.
• 6.30 pm Return back to the resort.
• 8:00 pm assemble for an in-depth classroom session/ Image reviews/ Photography discussion with Ratish.
• Dinner and Lights off!

Day 2, 3, 4 [Game Drives]: 24th – 26th December 2024

• 4:30 am Wakeup call with coffee / tea
• 5.15 am we will depart for our Full Day Expedition.
• Breakfast and Lunch on board during Expedition.
• 6:30 pm Return back to the resort.
• 8:00 pm assemble for an in-depth classroom session/ Image reviews/ Photography discussion with Ratish.
• Dinner and lights off!

Day5 [Departure]: 27th December’24

• Morning Breakfast between 7.00-8.00 am
• Checkout by 9.00 am and transfer to Mara airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi.
• End of Expedition

Inclusions:

• Round trip domestic flights between Nairobi & Masai Mara.
• 4 Nights & 5 Days Full-board stay at Masai Mara Simba Lodge
• Customized land cruiser equipped for photography.
• Experienced Masai drivers to navigate the wildlife- rich terrain.

Exclusions:

• Air fare from your city of residence to Nairobi and back ∙ Visa charges
• Alcoholic/Non-Alcoholic beverages
• Tips, laundry, personal snacks etc.
• Participants are required to cover any expenses not specified in the ‘inclusions’ as additional costs.

Note: Any forthcoming increases in Government Taxes and Safari Fees imposed by the Forest Department are not included in the package, but we will promptly notify you and invoice you for these charges upon receiving communication from the authorities.

• Children up to 5 years of age are complimentary, above 5 years would be charged as normal.

Payment Schedule:

• 30% of booking to block your seats
• 70% on or before the Travel Date
• Payment Options: NEFT/ UPI/Credit cards/Debit cards

Cancellation:

• Cancellation made within the 30-90 days of booking would be entitled for a 50% credit note of trip cost.
• Any cancellation thereafter would be strictly non-refundable.
